Tea Export Documentation from India
Indian export rules require a transport document, a commercial invoice / packing list and a shipping bill for every shipment, with further documents depending on the product and destination. Here is what we supply.
Core documents
Supplied with every shipment
| Commercial invoice | Seller, buyer, product description, quantity, value, Incoterm and payment terms. |

| Packing list | Package count, net / gross weights, lot codes and marks. |
| Shipping bill | Filed with Indian Customs for export clearance. |
| Bill of lading / air waybill | Issued by the carrier as the transport document and, for B/L, document of title. |
| Certificate of Origin | Non-preferential, or preferential where a trade agreement applies and the product qualifies. |
Where applicable
Product- and destination-specific documents
| Certificate of Analysis (COA) | Per lot, covering the parameters in the agreed specification. |

| Third-party test reports | Pesticide residue, moisture or microbiological testing by an accredited lab, at the buyer's specification. |
| Phytosanitary certificate | Issued by India's plant quarantine authority when the destination requires it for the product. |
| Fumigation / treatment certificate | When required for the packaging or destination. |
| Insurance certificate | For CIF shipments. |
| Tea Board documentation | As required under the Tea Board of India export framework. |
| Product certificates | Copies of applicable certifications (see Quality & Certifications). |
| Destination-specific documents | E.g. legalised / attested documents, health certificates or importer registrations, as your market requires. |

- Any documents your customs broker or regulator requires
- Labelling language and registration requirements for retail packs
- Whether a preferential Certificate of Origin applies
- Payment terms (L/C documentary requirements if applicable)
